Metasequoia glyptostroboides ‘Kools Gold’
Dawn Redwood - Kools Gold
A large growing, golden Dawn Redwood. Deep golden new foliage that holds its colouration well throughout summer. Foliage doesn’t burn in full sun, unlike the similar ‘Gold Rush’ and is a little slower growing. Foliage changes bronzy-orange in fall before shedding. Grows 14′ high by 7′ wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Parentage unknown. Seedling selected by Nelis Kools Nursery of Deurne, the Netherlands in 2000. Named after his daughter "Guusje".

Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun.
Soil: Adaptable to various soils. Prefers moist slightly acidic soils. Able to withstand swampy soil conditions.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed from spring to July.
