Southern Magnolia - Bracken's Brown Beauty
One of the most cold hardy Southern Magnolias! This dense growing variety features traditional waxy green leaves with brown fuzzy pubescent undersides. Leaves are about half the size of the species growing to 7″ long. White fragrant flowers appear in late spring, again about half the size of the species, 4 – 6″ wide. Grows 25′ high by 20′ wide.

Origin
Parentage unknown. Originated as a seedling found at Ray Bracken's Nursery in South Carolina.

Exposure:Full Sun to Part Sun. Plant out of the prevailing winter winds.
Soil: Adaptable to various soils. Likes acidic soils.
Maintenance: Selective pruning right after flowering. Pruning in fall or spring will remove flower buds.
