Witch Hazel - Hybrid - Arnold Promise
A classic favourite large growing Witch Hazel. Very fragrant yellow flowers bloom on bare stems, later than most varieties, around February to March. Flowers are coupled with a red calyx. Green foliage transitions to yellow-orange colours in the fall. Upright vase shape, growing to 18′ high and wide.

Origin
Seedling cross between Hamamelis mollis and Hamamelis japonica. Introduced by the Arnold Arboretum of Boston, Massachusetts in 1963.
Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun.
Soil: Tolerant of various soils but prefers a well draining one, slightly acidic.
Maintenance: Selective trimming in spring right after the flowers have finished. Do not trim in fall, as flower buds have already been set.
