Witch Hazel - Common - Green Thumb

NATIVAR – A semi-dwarf growing variegated Witch Hazel! Obovate leaves emerge a yellowish-green hue which then develops to an irregular dark green center splotch and yellow margin. This stable colouration holds till fall, when foliage transitions to yellow. Leaves do not hold on through winter. Fall flowers are a pale yellow. Grows 8′ high and wide.

Origin

Parentage unknown. Introduced by Alex Neubauer of Hidden Hollow Nursery, Tennessee in 2002.

Special Notes

Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun.

Soil: Tolerant of various soils but prefers a well draining one, slightly acidic.

Maintenance: Selective trimming in spring right after the flowers have finished. Do not trim in fall, as flower buds have already been set.
