
Hamamelis mollis ‘Goldcrest’
Witch Hazel - Chinese - Goldcrest
A medium sized growing Witch Hazel with larger golden-yellow flowers than the species which are sweetly-scented. Blooms on leafless branches in late winter/early spring, later than other cultivars. Green leaves transition to yellow/yellow-orange in the fall. Grows around 10′-15′ high and wide.

Origin
Parentage unknown. Introduced by Lord Aberconway in 1961. Possible seedling of the species (Hamamelis mollis) colleted by E.H. Wilson.
Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun.
Soil: Tolerant of various soils but prefers a well draining one, slightly acidic.
Maintenance: Selective trimming in spring right after the flowers have finished. Do not trim in fall, as flower buds have already been set.
