Cornelian Cherry - Variegated

A variegated form of Cornelian Cherry! Greenish-blue leaves have a creamy-white margin and turn yellow in fall. Clusters of tiny yellow flowers are seen on bare stems during late winter/early spring. These flowers are followed by glossy-red fruit which are developed by fall. Fruits are edible if desired and taste like a sour-cherry, often used in preserves. Grows 18′ high by 14′ wide.

Special Notes

Exposure: Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light. Protected from the hot mid-day sun.

Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.

Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done in the spring right after the flowers finish. Do not trim summer or afterwards as, you will be removing next springs flower buds.
