A breathtaking variegated form of the Wedding Cake Tree! Green leaves with thick white margins cover horizontal branches spring and summer before turning yellow in fall. Small creamy-white flower clusters can be seen in late spring followed by purple-black fruits in late summer/fall. Grows 25′ high and wide.

Origin

Parentage unknown. Originated from Japan in the mid-1800s. Introduced by Veitch Nurseries of England in 1889.

Special Notes

Exposure: Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light. Protected from the hot mid-day sun.

Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.

Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done in the spring right after the flowers finish. Do not trim summer or afterwards as, you will be removing next springs flower buds.
