Eastern Redbud - Black Pearl™
NATIVAR – A stunning dark leaved variety of Eastern Redbud. Pea-shaped lavender pink flowers appear on bare stems in early spring. New heart shaped leaves emerge dark purple, almost appearing as black in colour. This colouration lasts longer into summer than many other varieties before eventually taking on shades of green and transitioning to yellow by fall. Grows 20′ high by 25′ wide.

Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun. Shelter from winter winds.
Soil: Prefers moist, well draining soils. Dislikes heavy compacted clay or very sandy dry soils.
Maintenance: Selective pruning to shape right after flowering. Remove dead wood in early spring.
