Eastern Redbud - Arnold Banner
NATIVAR – A new and exciting variety of Eastern Redbud! Flowers are white with pink striping on their “banner” (main) petal giving it an almost two-tone appearance. Otherwise, all other features are standard as the species. Green spring and summer foliage turns yellow in the fall. Grows 20′ high by 15′ wide.

Origin
Discovered as a branch mutation on a Cercis canadensis at Arnold Arboretum, Massachusetts in 2009 by a staff member.

Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun. Shelter from winter winds.
Soil: Prefers moist, well draining soils. Dislikes heavy compacted clay or very sandy dry soils.
Maintenance: Selective pruning to shape right after flowering. Remove dead wood in early spring.
