This Satsuki Azalea features single, extra large 3.5″-4″ flowers! The flowers having overlapping lobes are typically white with a yellow-green blotch and various degrees of deep pink stripes and flecks. However, flowers can also be pink with a white boarder or even solid pink/red. Blooms into June. An upright grower to 4′ high by 3′ wide.

Origin

Seedling from Azalea 'Koa no Hikari'. Introduced before 1979.

Special Notes

Exposure: Morning Sun, afternoon shade or all day filtered light. Protect from the hot mid-day sun. Protect from the prevailing winter winds, plant in a sheltered location.

Soil: A very acidic, moist but well draining soil is required. Avoid heavy compacted soils such as clay.

Maintenance: Selective pruning right after flowering in done. Dead-heading is recommended for increased flower production the following year.
