Acer palmatum ‘Shishi yatsubusa’
Japanese Maple - Small Lion Cub
Similar to ‘Mikawa yatsubusa’ Japanese Maple. A dense dwarf variety, with layered small green leaves emerging with a red margin which fades by summer and changes to bright yellow and orange in the fall. Grows 3′ high and wide in a 10 year period.

Parentage unknown.
Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light.
Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
