Get ready for a stunning, jaw-dropping, variegated Japanese Maple! It’s hard to describe as the variegation differs so much leaf to leaf but typically brighter red new spring foliage is splashed with irregular markings of pink and darker red. The entire colourations darkens and by summer, some hints of green maybe shown. Vivid red colouration in the fall. Grows 8′ high by 4′ wide in a 10 year period.

Parentage unknown. Discovered and introduced by Buchholz Nursery, Oregon.

Special Notes

Exposure: Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light. Protected from the hot mid-day sun.

Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.

Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.

Variegation may be unstable, as such if one branch leafs out in strictly a solid colour, it is recommended to be trimmed off.
