Japanese Maple - Firebird
A wonderful Japanese Maple sharing similar characteristics to ‘Shin deshojo’. Small to medium sized foliage has bright pinkish-red with yellow veins in the spring. The yellow veins slowly extends towards the red leaf edges while transitioning to green. By summer, the leaves are completly green with subtle bronzy-red margins. New pinkish-red foliage occurs during the summer for a spectacular look. Fall colours are bright red and orange. Grows 8′ high by 6′ wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Parentage unknown. Found and introduced by Dick Van der Maat Nursery in Boskoop, Netherlands
Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light.
Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
