Japanese Maple - Olsen's Frosted Strawberry
One of the better known reticulated variegated Japanese Maples. Ghost like leaves emerge bright pinkish-red with darker redder veins throughout. The background lightens up to more of a creamy pink by summer and the veins change to a more greenish red. Fall brings in shades of reds, yellows and oranges. Dwarf, grows 6′ high and wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Chance seedling from 'Aka Shigitatsu Sawa', discovered by Harry Olsen.
Special Notes
Exposure: Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light. Protected from the hot mid-day sun.
Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
