Japanese Maple - Red Lion
A red Shishigashira! Yes, you heard that right, this dwarf Japanese Maple has deep red congested new growth in the spring. By summer the colour can fade to a purplish-green or solid green but fall times brings back the show with colours from yellow to orange to red. Grows 3′ high by 2′ wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Parentage unknown. Discovered by the famous Masayoshi Yano from Japan in 1980.
Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light.
Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
