
Acer palmatum ‘Kawahara no midori’
Japanese Maple - Green Belly
Considered to be a smaller version of ‘Ukon’. Light green, almost whitish spring new growth matures to chartreuse which holds into summer until fall when they turn a brilliant yellow. This is all coupled with bright bark which is accentuated on younger branches during winter months. Vase shape, growing 10′ high by 3′ wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Parentage unknown. Introduced by Guy Maillot in France.
Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light.
Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
