Japanese Maple - Tsukasa's Flower

A heavily variegated Japanese Maple with a willowy form. Irregular shaped, thin leaves emerge a whitish-pink in the spring, developing into a green leaf base with pink splashes. The amount of pink can vary leaf to leaf. By the summer, the pink transitions to a creamy white. In the fall, foliage changes to orange and red. Grows 8′ high by 4′ wide in a 10 year period.

Parentage unknown. Introduced by Tsukasa Nursery, Japan.

Special Notes

Exposure: Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light. Protected from the hot mid-day sun.

Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.

Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
