Japanese Maple - Green Trompenburg

A tall growing Japanese Maple whose leaf style is similar to the regular ‘Trompenburg’ where pointed leaf tips have edges that turn under given it an almost claw like appearance. Green spring leaves are tipped in a rusty-red colour. These leaves turn a solid dark green by summer and transition to an orange-red fall colour. Grows 6′ high by 3′ wide in a 10 year period.

Origin

Originated from an open-pollinated seed batch by Firma C. Esveld Nursery in Boskoop, Netherlands. Registered by Maplewood Nursery, Oregon in 1988.

Special Notes

Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light.

Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.

Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
