Japanese Maple - Dulce

A large growing upright Japanese Maple. Small, dissected leaves emerge orangy-red in spring and mature to bronzy-green by summer. Fall colours bring shades of orange and yellows. Grows 10′ high by 6′ wide in a 10 year period.

Origin

Parentage unknown. Originated at Buchholz Nursery of Oregon. Named after the employee 'Dulce' who discovered it.

Special Notes

Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light.

Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.

Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.

The original mother plant was selected due to its variegation which proved to be unstable.
