Japanese Maple - Alpine Sunrise
A dwarf Japanese Maple with a compact, shrubby habit. Leaves emerge bright cherry red in spring and mature to a dark blackish-maroon colour by summer. Foliage transitions to brilliant bright red in fall. Grows 4-5′ high and wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Parentage unknown. Discovered as a witch's broom by Robert McCaffrey of Alpine Gardens, New Jersey.
Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light.
Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
