Nordmann Fir - Broom H

A dwarf Nordmann Fir. Dark green needles which are smaller than the species on dense branching to form a flat-globe shape when young. Eventually will gain a leader to become a squatty conical shape. Grows 1′ high by 1.5′ wide in a 10 year period.

Origin

Parentage unknown. Originated as a witch's broom at Hunnewell Estate, Massachusetts. Found by Greg Williams before 2000.

Special Notes

Exposure: Prefers full sun to partial shade.

Soil: Prefers acidic, moist but well draining workable soil. Dislikes extremes such as wet or bone-dry soils.

Maintenance: Selective trimming only when needed.

Group: Dwarf
