Broadleaf Evergreens – The Acid Loving Plants

Many people love to grow rhododendrons and their companion plants. These plants are generally known to be in the Acid Loving Family known as Ericaceae. Here are a few helpful tips when attempting to grow these.

    Prime Importance are the following no matter where you live.
  1. Make sure they are hardy to your area.
  2. Generally keep out of heavy winds.
  3. Keep out of hot dry locations.
  4. Have well drained non clay-like soils – sandy loam is preferred
  5. And make absolutely sure the soil is acid – a pH of 5.5 to 6.
  6. Partial shade is best.
