Acer palmatum ‘Shin deshojo’

Acer palmatum ‘Shin deshojo’

Japanese Maple - New Hands of a Young Girl

One of the most popular Japanese Maples for bonsai use but also as a specimen garden plant. Small leaves emerge in the spring as an outstanding flaming scarlet colour. The leaves do fade to a more greenish colour by summer but occasionally light molted variegation with white is seen. In the fall, colours of oranges and reds are seen. The spring colour is both brighter and longer lasting than the traditional ‘Deshojo’ variety. Grows 10′ high by 7′ wide in a 10 year period.
