Japanese Maple - Swamp Plover

Ghostly like leaves on this Japanese Maple are medium to large in size and emerge with an orangish background and shades of pink which intensify towards the margins and tips of the leaves, all while having a network of beautiful green veins. Summer transitions the colour to a creamy-white with darker green veins and margins. Fall foliage is a brilliant red. Grows 10′ high by 5′ wide in a 10 year period.

Origin

Parentage unknown. Found as a chance seedling in Japan and introduced in 1988.

Special Notes

Exposure: Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light. Protected from the hot mid-day sun.

Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.

Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
