Japanese Maple - Cutleaf - Garnet Tower

While not a 100% upright, this cut-leaf Japanese Maple comes very close with still having some weeping tendencies. Purple-red spring and summer foliage turns scarlet in the fall. Grows 8′ high by 6′ wide in a 10 year period.

Origin

Found as a branch sport of Acer palmatum dissectum 'Garnet' in Japan during the summer of 1999.

Special Notes

Exposure: Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light. Protected from the hot mid-day sun.

Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.

Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
