NATIVAR – A dwarf Canadian Hemlock. Small, irregular upright of congested dark green needles on very thick stems which are densely formed. New shoots feature brownish-yellow pubescence. Grows 3′ high by 1.5′ wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Parentage unknown. Found by John F. Huss of Connecticut in 1900.
Special Notes
Exposure: Part Sun to Full Shade.
Soil: Prefers moist, well draining, acidic soils. Dislikes heavy compacted clay and dry soils.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed from spring to July.
