Rhododendron - Cornell Pink
A deciduous, lepidote, tall growing Rhododendron. 1 1/2″ clear pink flowers covers the plant. Blooms very early in the season before the leaves emerge. A little bit of a more open habit, grows 5′ high and wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Selection of Rhododendron mucronulatum made by Dr. Henry T. Skinner in 1958. He received his B.A. and Masters from Cornell University in Horticulture.
Special Notes
Exposure: Morning Sun, afternoon shade or all day filtered light. Protect from the hot mid-day sun. Protect from the prevailing winter winds, plant in a sheltered location.
Soil: A very acidic, moist but well draining soil is required. Avoid heavy compacted soils such as clay.
Maintenance: Selective pruning right after flowering in done. Dead-heading is recommended for increased flower production the following year.
