Metasequoia glyptostroboides
Dawn Redwood
A large fast growing tree which is considered to be a living fossil. Pyramidal form of soft green needles which turn bronzy-orange in fall before shedding. Small 25mm globe cones emerge green and mature greyish-brown. Fissured reddish-brown bark exfoliates with age. Grows 20′ high by 6′ wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Native to central China.
Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun.
Soil: Adaptable to various soils. Prefers moist slightly acidic soils. Able to withstand swampy soil conditions.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed from spring to July.
