Japanese Larch - Paper Lanterns
A large growing Japanese Larch forming a narrow pyramidal form of slightly contorted branches. Numerous lantern shaped cones are very prominent in the fall. Green needles turn yellow-orange during fall before shedding. Grows 10′ high by 4′ wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Parentage unknown. Seedling selected by Edsel Wood of Oregon in the 1980s. Named and introduced by Don Howse of Porterhowse Farms, Oregon.
Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun.
Soil: Adaptable to various soils. Prefers moist slightly acidic soils.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed from spring to July.
