Witch Hazel - Hybrid - Early Bird

A very early flowering, semi-dwarf Witch Hazel. Very lightly scented, sulphur-yellow flowers with a maroon calyx are born on bare stems mid-to-late winter (Febuary to March). Light green leaves turn yellow with red highlights during the fall. Grows 9′ high and wide.

Parentage unknown. Introduced by the De Belder family of Belgium in 1984.

Special Notes

Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun.

Soil: Tolerant of various soils but prefers a well draining one, slightly acidic.

Maintenance: Selective trimming in spring right after the flowers have finished. Do not trim in fall, as flower buds have already been set.
