Hamamelis vernalis ‘Beholden’
Witch Hazel - Ozark - Beholden
A fun medium sized Witch Hazel which blooms out-of-sync with most other varieties in its species. Fragrant reddish-orange flowers with a purple calyx are born on bare stems during late fall (November) up into winter (early February). Grows 10′ high by 8′ wide.

Origin
Cross between Hamamelis vernalis 'Amethyst' and Hamamelis vernalis 'Holden'. Discovered by Ron Schild of Ohio.
Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun.
Soil: Tolerant of various soils but prefers a well draining one, slightly acidic.
Maintenance: Selective trimming in spring right after the flowers have finished. Do not trim in fall, as flower buds have already been set.
