European Beech - Riversii
A large growing European Beech. Typically the standard purple-leafed variety in the trade. Young foliage emerges wine-purple but matures to a greenish-purple throughout the summer turning copper in the fall. Forms a symmetrical oval shape. Grows 50-60′ high by 40′ wide.

Origin
Parentage unknown. Introduced by Rivers Nursery of England in the 1870s.
Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun.
Soil: Prefers moist, well draining soils. Dislikes heavy compacted clay.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed from spring to early August.
