European Beech - Dawyck Purple
A large growing, narrow-upright European Beech. Deep purple leaves emerge of upright branches. Foliage turns bronzy-green by summer. A little more open than ‘Dawyck Gold’. Grows 70′ high by 15′ wide.

Origin
Hybrid seedling of Fagus sylvatica 'Dawyck' and an unnamed purple beech. Selected by Dick Van Hoey Smith of Holland in 1968.
Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun.
Soil: Prefers moist, well draining soils. Dislikes heavy compacted clay.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed from spring to early August.
