Chinese Flowering Dogwood - Lemon Ripple
A very intriguing Chinese Flowering Dogwood! Green leaves with wavy thick lemon-yellow edges emerge in spring and last through summer before transitioning to reddish-orange in the fall in conjunction with strawberry-red fruits. White spring 1.5″-2″ bracts (flowers) are a nice complement to the foliage. Grows 15′-20′ high and wide.

Origin
Parentage unknown. Found as a branch sport on a seedling tree in Maryland.

Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun.
Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done in the spring right after the flowers finish. Do not trim summer or afterwards as, you will be removing next springs flower buds.
