Rhododendron - Cunningham's White
An elepidote, medium growing Rhododendron being a very old cultivar. 2″ to 2 3/8″ flowers are light pink in bud and open up white with a yellow-greenish blotch. Flowers are born in trusses of 7-8 during late midseason. Dense, growing 4′ high and wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Hybrid seedling of Rhododendron caucasicum x Rhododendron ponticum var. album. Bred by J. Cunningham of England in 1830.
Special Notes
Exposure: Morning Sun, afternoon shade or all day filtered light. Protect from the hot mid-day sun. Protect from the prevailing winter winds, plant in a sheltered location.
Soil: A very acidic, moist but well draining soil is required. Avoid heavy compacted soils such as clay.
Maintenance: Selective pruning right after flowering in done. Dead-heading is recommended for increased flower production the following year.
