Black Oak - Golden Dragon
NATIVAR – Originally believed to be a variety of the Northern Red Oak (Q. rubra) it has since been reclassified as a variety of the Black Oak. Spring foliage emerges a clear yellow which matures a solid golden-yellow and lasts mostly throughout the season and turns a more typical brown in the fall. Large growing, 45′-50′ high and wide.

Origin
Parentage unknown. Found in the wild by Ray Jackson of Tennessee.

Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light.
Soil: Adaptable to various soils. Prefers slightly acidic soils.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed from spring to July.
