Japanese Maple - Peve Starfish

A real intriguing Japanese Maple which leaves are curled under giving them the look of a starfish! New spring foliage emerges bright red changing to burgundy-red and matures a bronzy-purple-green by late summer. In the fall, the foliage transitions to vibrant red. Grows 6′ high by 4′ wide in a 10 year period.

Parentage unknown. Introduced by Piet Vergeldt of The Netherlands.

Special Notes

Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light.

Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.

Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
