
Acer palmatum ‘Katsura hime’
Japanese Maple - Wig Princess
A dwarf yet vigorous form of the typical ‘Katsura’ Japanese Maple that has more intense and longer lasting colouration. New spring leaves are edged in orange which transition to a more yellowish center. These colours give way by summer becoming a yellowish-green before transitioning back to bright oranges and yellows in the fall. Grows 6′ high and wide in a 10 year period.

Parentage unknown.
Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light.
Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
