Japanese Maple - First Ghost
The original of the Japanese Maples “Ghost Series”! Large, impressive leaves with wavy margins and sharp teeth emerge ghostly white with dark green veins and purple-pink edges. The white background transitions to a more chartreuse colour by summer. By fall, the foliage turns to shades of yellow and orange. Grows 6′ high by 5′ wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Found as a branch mutation of Acer palmatum 'Beni shigitatsu sawa'. Discovered and introduced by Buchholz Nursery as part of the 'Ghost Series' in 1993.
Special Notes
Exposure: Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light. Protected from the hot mid-day sun.
Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
