Japanese Maple - Crimson Prince

A large growing Japanese Maple considered to be an improvement over the fan favourite ‘Bloodgood’. Foliage emerges bright red and transitions to deep purplish-red till very late summer (much longer than the before mentioned) when it takes on a bronzy-green hue. During fall, colours reignite back to bright red. Grows 10′ high by 8′ wide in a 10 year period.

Parentage unknown. Introduced by Princeton Nurseries, New Jersey in 1988.

Special Notes

Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light.

Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.

Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
