Japanese Maple - Anna's Broom

A compact/dwarf form of Japanese Maple with uniquely divided leaves. Leaves emerge bright red in spring maturing burgundy later and eventually dark green in summer before transitioning to a bright red fall colour. Grows in globe shape, 2-4′ high and wide in a 10 year period.

Origin

Parentage unknown. Found as a witch's broom by Red Maple Nursery in Pennsylvania and named after a former employee.

Special Notes

Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light.

Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.

Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
