Japanese Maple - Soft Drizzle
A wonderful, semi-dwarf Japanese Maple with reticulated foliage. Similar to ‘Purple Ghost’ but brighter and redder. New spring leaves emerge bright pinkish-red with dark purple veins transition to brick red by late spring before darkening to purple by summer while retaining their veins. Fall brings colours of orange and red into the mix. Grows 6′ high by 3′ wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Parentage unknown. Introduced from Japan in 1987.
Special Notes
Exposure: Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light. Protected from the hot mid-day sun.
Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
