A red columnar Japanese Maple! New foliage emerges a bright red and darkens to a purple-red by summer before turning back to a brilliant red fall colour. Grows 10′ high by 3′ wide in a 10 year period.

Witch's broom of Acer palmatum 'Bloodgood' found by Twombley's Nursery, Connecticut in the late 1970s.

Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light.
Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
