
Acer palmatum ‘Nuresagi’
Japanese Maple - Wet Heron
A large growing Japanese Maple with large leaves. Spring foliage emerges deep purple-red and lasts through the summer, till fall when it changes to garnet red. During spring, in certain light, a bluish-overtone on the leaves can be seen, hence where its name originated. Branches are a deep maroon colour with fine white striations. Grows 8′ high by 6′ wide in a 10 year period.

Origin
Parentage unknown. Listed as early as 1882.
Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light.
Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
