Japanese Maple - Overlapping Variegations
New green leaves are irregularly dusted in apricot speckling. The speckling varies leaf to leaf with some being almost completely covered as the spots merge in to each other. Some leaves are almost completely green. The apricot coloured speckling changes to a more golden-yellow colour by summer. Foliage changes to a bright red fall colour. Grows 6′ high by 4′ wide in a 10 year period.

Parentage unknown.
Special Notes
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light.
Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.
Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
Group: Palmatum
J. D. Vertrees lists this to be synonymous with ‘Sagara nishiki’ but other references list this variety separate and to be a bit more variegated.
