Ribbon like leaves are medium to large in size and are deeply divided. Leaves emerge purple-red in spring which holds well but eventually takes on a more bronzy hue in summer. By fall the leaves transition to crimson. Grows 10′ high and wide in a 10 year period.

Origin

Parentage unknown. Introduced by Vermeulen & Son Nursery in New Jersey, in 1958.

Special Notes

Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light.

Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.

Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
