Japanese Maple - Black Lace

Although not a true dissectum, this Japanese Maple has very dark, maroon lacy leaves which hold their colour throughout summer. In the fall, the leaves transition to scarlet-red. Grows 7′ high by 3′ wide in a 10 year period.

Parentage unknown. Introduced by Jan Willem Wezelenburg Nursery in the Netherlands.

Special Notes

Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun or all day indirect/filtered light.

Soil: Well workable, moist but well draining slightly acidic soil. Dislikes heavy clay soils.

Maintenance: Selective pruning as needed, can be done during winter up until early August.
