Witch Hazel - Ozark - Amethyst

A unique medium sized Witch Hazel that features lavender-purple-red flowers in mid/late winter! Flowers are slightly fragrant and are born on leafless branches. The foliage consists of grey-green leaves which transition to shades of stunning red and orange in the fall. Grows around 8′-10′ high and wide.

Origin

Parentage unknown. Introduced by Tim Brotzman, Ohio in 2003 and named by Don Shadow. Raised from open-pollinated seed of 5 different witch hazel cultivars.

Special Notes

Exposure: Full Sun to Part Sun.

Soil: Tolerant of various soils but prefers a well draining one, slightly acidic.

Maintenance: Selective trimming in spring right after the flowers have finished. Do not trim in fall, as flower buds have already been set.
